The Democratic challenger monikered “Radical Liberal Raphael Warnock” by U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) vowed in a November 2017 speech to “dismantle the value system” of America, an unearthed video reveals.
The recording, first reported by Breitbart, captures Warnock preaching from his pulpit at Atlanta’s Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he has served as the senior pastor since 2005.
The speech came as Congress was considering the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, commonly known as President Donald J. Trump’s historic tax cuts and economic growth legislation that led to historic highs before the COVID-19 pandemic. According to IRS data, that legislation has also reduced tax liability for low- and middle-class Americans since being enacted.
Speaking to his congregation, Warnock claimed “religious folks… are trying to steal money from the poor and give it to the rich through this terrible tax bill.”
“There’s some jacked up theology coming from American pulpits,” he subsequently said.
Speaking of, Warnock minutes earlier seemingly compared himself to Jesus — and America to the Roman Empire.
“I want you to hear me now, because most of Christian America is focused on two or three issues,” he asserted.
“Meanwhile, the Bible spends most of its time talking about how to treat the poor, the struggling and the stranger,” Warnock continued. “And so, don’t misinterpret what Jesus is saying. Jesus is saying you will always have the poor with you, not because God ordained it — not because it is what it is and that’s the way it has to be. The poor are with you because of the evils and the excesses of the empire. And I came to dismantle the value system of the empire. I already told you that I came to preach good news to the poor, to open the eyes of the blind, and to set the captives free, and to preach the year of the Lord’s freedom. In other words, I came to dismantle the value system of the empire. But here’s the problem: the religious folk who should be fighting with me against the empire are in cahoots with the empire.”
He continued to compare Christian Americans who supported the 2017 tax cuts to “scribes” during the days of the Roman Empire who were “looking for ways to steal Jesus and to kill Jesus.”

This comes after it was revealed earlier this week that Warnock the month later described members of Congress who voted for the 2017 tax cuts as “gangsters and thugs,” claiming they have a will to “kill children.”
