California love: Pelosi to hold event supporting Ossoff, Warnock campaigns

The memo:

  • Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is holding a campaign event for Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff.
  • The virtual event will be held Tuesday night.
  • This is merely the latest instance of Californians working to ensure Ossoff and Warnock are elected in Georgia's runoff contests.

After admitting she delayed additional COVID-19 relief for hardworking Georgians ahead of the November 3 election for political reasons, U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is holding a virtual campaign event for Georgia Democratic Senate candidates Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. EST.

“Find out what you can do to help [Ossoff] and [Warnock] win in #Georgia to #FlipTheSenate!” Pelosi tweeted.

Reacting to the Pelosi event, RNC spokesperson Savannah Viar said in a statement, “Nancy Pelosi knows that Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock would be nothing more than a rubber stamp for a radical agenda of higher taxes, government-run health care and defunding the police. Pelosi and her coastal elites should quit wasting their time. On January 5th, Georgians will reject Ossoff and Warnock, thwarting Pelosi’s plan once and for all.”

This is merely the latest instance of California liberals going all-in to ensure Ossoff and Warnock are elected in Georgia’s runoff contests.

Previous examples include a Silicon Valley fundraiser, followed by Californians physically “descending” on Georgia in order to further exert influence on the Peach State’s elections. Pelosi also headlined a virtual fundraiser for the Democratic Senate candidates earlier this month.

Additionally, The Washington Free Beacon reports: “Ossoff has relied on California donors throughout his bid to unseat Sen. David Perdue… The Democrat raised $3.37 million from the Golden State in the third quarter, more than double the $1.64 million he raised from Georgians. Ossoff’s failed 2017 congressional bid saw a similar dependency on out-of-state contributions—roughly 98 percent of the Democrat’s campaign cash in the race’s final two months came from outside of Georgia.”

Early voting is underway in Georgia’s runoffs.
