Republicans make closing pitch: Georgia is the last line of defense against socialism, the radical left

-

The memo:

  • Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler have a concise closing message: Georgia is the last hope of defeating socialism and the radical far-left.
  • They have been crystal clear throughout their runoff contests, and Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock have even reinforced the Republican message.

U.S. Senators David Perdue (R-GA) and Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) have been crystal clear about what is at stake for Georgia and the country throughout their respective runoff races.

Perdue, facing “trust fund socialist” Jon Ossoff, and Loeffler, challenged by “radical liberal” Raphael Warnock, have stressed repeatedly that Georgians are the last line of defense against handing total control of Congress over to far-left Democrats who will implement a dangerous socialist agenda that will forever change our nation.

Both Perdue’s and Loeffler’s closing television ads drive this point home one final time.

And, on the other side of the equation, Ossoff’s and Warnock’s own campaigns have reinforced the Republicans’ case, as even the Atlanta Journal-Constitution conceded, “Not long ago, state Democrats ran screaming from national figures. Now, they’re embracing them.”

For his part, Warnock has turned out to be one of the worst major party candidates in modern American history. From his adulation of Fidel Castro and Jeremiah Wright and his avowed belief in Marxism to scandals over alleged child abuse and domestic violence, Warnock is as far from the mainstream in the Peach State as possible.

However, this is not to say that Ossoff is a relative moderate; his comparative electoral advantage to Warnock is simply that Ossoff has very little in the way of a record or experience that Georgia’s voters can hold against him, as his resume is tissue paper thin.

While Warnock has become colloquially known as the “radical liberal” in the race, Perdue has been effective in arguing that Ossoff is a true believer and supporter of the far-left, too. The senator has outlined the following regarding Ossoff, who is just about tied with Warnock in the race to be the most radical leftist candidate in Georgia history:

  1. Self-described socialists like Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) have supported Ossoff and believe he will hand them the vote they need to perpetrate their agenda on the American people. AOC even said that Democrats need to win in Georgia so they “don’t have to negotiate” when it comes to ramming through their socialist priorities. Ossoff has welcomed the support of both of these leaders.

  1. Ossoff will be a rubber stamp for the Democrats’ socialist agenda. He supports defunding the police, higher taxes, and locking down small businesses.

  1. Jon Ossoff supports fundamentally changing America forever. He will vote to pack the Supreme Court with liberal activist judges, for statehood for DC and Puerto Rico, and to eliminate the Senate filibuster.

  2. Ossoff is compromised by China. He got caught lying about payments he received from a CCP-linked media company, promoted Chinese state-owned media on Twitter and made a film that “parroted CCP rhetoric.”

  1. Jon Ossoff always puts politics before people – even when it comes to COVID relief. Ossoff spent months supporting the Schumer-Pelosi obstruction of COVID-19 relief. He said he did not want to get “bogged down in the details” when asked what he wanted to see in a COVID-19 relief bill and also has criticized the PPP even though his own father took money from the program.

The day before the runoff election, Ossoff and Warnock appear set on proving Perdue and Loeffler right. The Democrats on Monday are leading their last push to get out the vote alongside New York City mayoral hopeful Andrew Yang, the failed Democratic presidential candidate who campaigned on tax hikes and government health care. This comes the day after California Democrat Kamala Harris, the Senate’s most liberal member, campaigned for Ossoff and Warnock.

“We’ve said it once, and we’ll say it again: Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock are too radical for Georgia. Even the day before Election Day, they continue to emphasize that fact,” said RNC spokesperson Savannah Viar in a statement.
